Promises Performance Without Compromising Installation
PANELRAIL® and REVEALRAIL are perforated support rails designed to provide design flexibility across a wide range of cladding assemblies. Commonly used as a secondary layer of rails in Knight Wall Systems’ CI®, HCI, MFI® and THERMAZEE® systems, they accommodate varied panel layouts, attachment requirements and exterior wall cavity depths. They may also be installed directly over the substrate where exterior insulation is not required, creating a ventilated cavity that promotes drainage and drying behind the cladding.
Engineered with installers in mind, both rail profiles feature pre-punched wall-anchor holes that simplify installation over steel or wood studs with gypsum sheathing, CMU, concrete and structural sheathing. Their perforated design allows air and moisture to move freely through the assembly, supporting long-term envelope performance while reducing field labor and installation complexity.

What is the difference between PANELRAIL® and REVEALRAIL?
Both rails are used primarily as secondary support rails. PANELRAIL® is a hat-channel girt that can be used at cladding-panel edges and midspans; REVEALRAIL is used at panel joints when an open joint look is desired.
How do PANELRAIL® and REVEALRAIL manage anchor holes?
Both profiles include pre-punched wall-anchor holes for installation efficiency.
Which anchors are used for PANELRAIL® and REVEALRAIL?
They should be installed using thermally isolated LD/TP fasteners selected for the substrate.
What insulation types are compatible with the rail systems?
As secondary rails they work with the insulation strategy of the primary CI®, HCI, MFI® or THERMAZEE® support system. PANELRAIL and REVEALRAIL should not be installed directly over insulation.
How much weight can the rail systems support?
The systems support cladding weights up to 25 PSF.*
What materials can the rails be installed over?
They can be installed over steel studs, wood studs, CMU, concrete and structural sheathing, depending on assembly design.
What gauges and finishes are available?
Available product gauge and finish selections should be confirmed for the project; standard KWS material options include 18GA or 16GA American-made steel, ZM40 coated or stainless steel with a mill finish or Black PVDF.
Are the rails third-party verified, EPD documented and Red List Free?

What warranty is included?
A 10-year limited warranty is available when paired with Knight Wall Systems Project-Specific Engineering.
*Spacing of components varies by project based on project specific conditions. Maximum allowable spacing and dead load (weight of cladding) is based on the total load (dead + live) acting on the assembly and connections. Depending on the system, insulation thickness will influence the systems capacities.
Wall anchors must be specified and supplied by KWS for an extended written limited warranty. KWS will specify the exact anchor type, embedment depth and spacing for anchors in project specific engineering packages. ThermaStop thermal isolation washers must be used on all types of wall anchors with the HCI or CI System, regardless of the substrate.
